Scandinavia Area Meeting Report
The annual Scandinavian area meeting took place on Saturday June 13 in Skåne, Sweden with around 20 people – both current and future members - attending.
The first visit of the day was to Splendorplant where Nils and Johanne gave the group an insight in to their development and use of LEAN, it was very inspiring to see problem solution at a high level.
The second visit was to Stängby Plantskola who kindly hosted our lunch. After lunch, Gustav – one of the region’s 2014 6 Packers – showed us around. We were impressed with the excellent quality and Gustav also showed us their use of ‘airpots’ amongst many other interesting methods.
The third visit was to BARA Minerals. Mats Kron gave us an interesting speech on their production of clay and Pimstones. We also were given the opportunity to see and discuss BARA Mineral’s latest initiative ‘Green Walls’.
Our last stop of our day in Southern Sweden was to ‘Lilla Torg’ in Malmö, where the group enjoyed dinner together.
We had a long but excellent day with current members and non-members who we hope to welcome to the IPPS European Region as members soon.
Our thanks to all at Splendorplant, Stängby Plantskola, BARA Minerals and everyone who was involved in the organisation of the visits, particularly Bent Jensen, and Thomas Merlöv who produced an excellent video of the day.
