We are delighted to announce that The Bransford Webbs Plant Company are a 6 Packer Support Sponsor.
The Bransford Webbs Plant Company is one of the leading growers of ornamental plants in the UK. We are a wholesale nursery based in Worcestershire and supply new and innovative plant promotions to garden centres across the UK. Established in 1961, the nursery covers fifteen hectares and produces two million plants per year. We grow a range of shrubs and herbaceous perennials. The nursery is proud to be a local employer, employing up to 100 staff during peak season. We have held the British Standard in Environmental Management Systems for over 10 years, and sustainability is a key element in our decision making.

We are pleased to announce Proptek as a 6 Packer Support Sponsor.
John Cooley in the early 1980’s was growing vegetable young plants in Expanded Polystyrene trays and figured there had to be a better way to improve plants per square meter. He worked on propagation trays in thermoformed and then injection moulded plastics and increased the P/SM by 20%. He took this idea to California where he started work by including Air Pruning technology into the tray design.
30 years later a whole range of Air Pruning propagation and growing trays became commonplace throughout the USA and Asia making Proptek a Global Company. The positive responses from growers in these regions allowed Proptek to fine tune the tray designs to allow for full mechanisation and the use of Ellepots to further aid Air Pruning.
The benefits to the nurseries are a reduction in labour, reduction in substrate use and maximum efficiency in water and fertigation management. All due to making propagation trays that suit mechanised transplanting and nursery transport systems and Air pruning technology.
Air Pruning allows the roots to grow through the sides of the cells where the tips are pruned by the air. This creates further roots that repeat the same process and behind them, a mass of feeder roots are created that are there to take up water and nutrients creating better plants and increased yields, reduced transplant fatalities, improved regrowth in pots and in fields. No longer do we see root circling, “J” or tap roots or water stagnation in root bound pots.
Proptek operates on a low carbon footprint. All the trays currently offered are Injection Moulded for long life (average 20 years), made from a high percentage recycled material, and usually manufactured in the country where the customer is based. Proptek only owns the tools and looks for existing Injection Moulding factories to manufacture closest to where the customer resides. This reduces the carbon footprint significantly.
With a combined nursery production experience of over 100 years, we employ specialists in our sales and production teams to best serve the nursery industry. We let the roots do the work!
We look forward to seeing you at the 2025 IPPS Conference!
